Protests Today
A group of people from the popular online networking site "Facebook" have organized a Worldwide "Day of International Action for a Free Burma" - scheduled for TODAY, Oct. 6th. The Facebook group, called "Support the Monks' protest in Burma," began with about 3,000 members on September 24, 2007. But with all the media attention Burma has received recently, the interest in this group has increased dramatically. The size of this online community is now over 332,000 members. The organization of this demonstration has also spurred a lot of talk about the new role of the internet in connecting people to causes. The web has the potential to be a very effective tool to connect people to what is going on around the world. If you're interested in joining their demonstrations today, check out their site to see if anyone will be in your area. Read more about this topic here. [Also- don't forget to watch the CNN program that will be highlighting Burma today at 4pm Pacific].

About The Road
The Road Film is a documentary movie that will share stories the world has never heard. Stories of women and children being raped or killed. Little boys kidnapped and forced to fight for the Burmese army as child soldiers. Men whose legs are blown off as they are forced to be "mine sweepers" for the Burmese army. Villages burned to the ground. Crops destroyed. Families separated. Whole people groups forced to flee from their homes, seeking a way to escape the brutal military regime that is trying to wipe them out.
